Description

Jason Buckley was already thankful for the opportunities Stone Lab had given him, but meeting his wife on the island may have been the greatest of all. "Before starting graduate school in June, I had the opportunity to return to Stone Lab, just for a few months. I was already grateful for the fun and experiences the island had given me, but the island had one more gift to give before I left; the opportunity to meet my future wife Katie Buckley. We were the first two station assistants to arrive on the island that year. I was tasked with leading her from the ferry to the docks. From our first handshake by the GIB III to our first kiss as a married couple at our wedding outside of Cleveland in 2017, Stone Lab has been a special place in our hearts. Going to an island that I had never known existed is still the most significant decision that I have ever made, professionally, spiritually, and personally."
