Dr. Yanıkdağ, who received his PhD from Ohio State, is the author of Healing the Nation: Prisoners of War, Medicine, and Nationalism in Turkey, 1914-1939 (Edinburgh, 2013) and is widely regarded as one of the world’s leading experts on the Ottoman Empire’s experience in World War I.
