Description

Narrative Medicine / Disability Studies ColLABoratory Friday, January 27, 2017 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. 18th Avenue Library Research Commons (3rd floor) The Disability Studies Program and the Department of English’s Project Narrative are proud to announce the inaugural event for our newly launched Medicine, Narrative, Disability, Rhetoric ColLABoratory. The event's goal is to facilitate discourse between scholars, professionals and activists who may not otherwise have the opportunity for critical exchange. We anticipate discussions not only of the four subjects named in the ColLABoratory’s title but also of bioethics, feminist science studies, narrative theory, rehabilitation science, disability activism, adaptive design and more. This symposium is highly interactive and will provide attendees with opportunities to discuss their own work, identify key questions for future research, and listen to keynote talks and Ignite-style presentations by nationally renowned leaders in the fields of medicine, narrative, disability studies and rhetoric. The event will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 27, 2017 in the 18th Avenue Library Research Commons (3rd floor) on Ohio State’s Columbus campus. It is free and open to the public. To register, contact Rebecca Hudgins (hudgins.18@osu.edu). Further information regarding schedule, speakers, and accessibility can be found on the event website.
